Was it a local marching band practicing for an upcoming summer parade? Or just a bunch of friends getting together for a public jam?
Several Wedgwood neighbors have written in to inquire about what they witnessed last night: Between 7:30 and 8 p.m., a band (marching band?) was out in full force, walking and playing on NE 86th Street and NE 87th Street between 27th Avenue NE and 35th Avenue NE. About 25 players in the band playing loudly — and well. Tubas, drums, the works. No uniforms though and mostly adults with a few non-musical folks following behind.

MYSTERY SOLVED: It was the Rainbow City Band! Several in-the-know neighbors wrote in to tell us and then RCB Prez Shelly Siegfried wrote in to confirm. She said the band, whose rehearsal home is Wedgwood Community Church on NE 82nd Street and 30th Avenue NE, was rehearsing on the streets of Wedgwood. She says the band loves the Wedgwood community, which is always “so friendly and supportive of us.”
