Robbery-assault investigated off Sand Point Way

K-9 units were out in the Sand Point area Thursday night around 9 p.m. as they investigated an assault and possible robbery, SeattleCrime.com is reporting.

A victim was found unconscious in the 5200 block of Mithun Place, a street in front of the Burke-Gilman Playground Park and the Burke Gilman Gardens low-income apartments.

The call came to police as an assault with a weapon, though the Web site is reporting that police don’t think a weapon was used. Police did request robbery detectives, the Web site said.

UPDATE@2:45PM / 3-05-10: The initial call came to police regarding a man with a gun in the parking lot, Seattlecrime.com is reporting. At the scene, police found a man on the ground with a head wound. A witness told officers the victim was arguing with another man before the assault. It was unclear whether anyone pulled a gun during the incident. The victim, who was uncooperative with police, was treated at the scene and taken to Northwest Hospital.
