Burglary map / Updated May 5

Good news and bad news in the burglary department. The good news is pretty good, though. Police found a black van believed to have been used in one or more area burglaries and small electronics and other items were being returned to some victims.

Also, several neighbors have reported to me that they have seen bicycle cops in View Ridge. One asked the officers if they were in the area because of the spike in burglaries and an officer confirmed by saying yes. And another neighbor said they’ve seen police cruisers once or twice per day cruising their neighborhood street.

On the downside, we have had a few new burglaries reported in the past couple of week.

The map above shows some of our area’s most high-profile home break-ins since late January. Click on each balloon for a summary; many also contain a link to a full post on the crime.

Note: This map lists only the burglaries reported to the Wedgwood View; it’s by no means a comprehensive list of all the burglaries that have occurred since late January. Email tips@wedgwoodview.com to report a burglary or offer further details.
