Repeat bank robber pulls gun on woman, son in Wedgwood

Seattle Police this afternoon said a repeat bank robbery suspect pulled a handgun on a mother and her 11-year-old son at the U.S. Bank in Wedgwood.

“He told the woman to hand over her wallet. The suspect then walked up to a bank teller, demanded money, and fled the the bank,” police said.

The armed robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. Wednesday at the bank, N.E. 87th Street and 35th Avenue Northeast, police said, adding the man is also a suspect in several recent robberies at banks in Seattle and Bellevue.

He is described as a white male, 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, wearing a black rain jacket, black hood and a ski mask.

“If you recognize the suspect, or have any information that might help police catch him, please contact the Robbery Unit at (206) 684-5540.”
