If the Olympics have your hockey juices flowing, here’s an idea for you: On Saturday, the Seattle Ronald McDonald House will be hosting a daylong benefit event at the new ShoWare Center in Kent.
Featured will be hockey, hockey and more hockey. Teams from Microsoft and Amazon.com are among those scheduled to play. Games begin at 9:40 a.m. Your ticket also will get you into the Seattle Thunderbirds-Portland Winterhawks game, which begins at 6:05 p.m. At the conclusion of that game, you’ll also be able to see an all-star game featuring T-Birds alum and local and national celebrities (think mostly B-listers but some entertaining ones — Tom Arnold is a regular).
Tickets are $16 to $40, a portion of which benefits the Ronald McDonald House, which provides housing to families caring for children battling serious illnesses. The House Web site has all the details, including how to get tickets.
