Seattle City Council member Sally J. Clark will host a community meeting later this month about a topic that many Wedgwood residents are pondering these days: how to create neighborhood-friendly family housing.
“Rowhouses, Apartments & Townhomes” is set for March 20 (a Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the Taproot Theatre in Greenwood, 204 North 95th St. Clark, chair of the Built Environment committee, says in announcing the event, “It’s time to change the way we design and shape new low-rise buildings in Seattle. The City Council will change the code to make quality, sustainable, well-designed multifamily housing that synchs with the neighborhoods where they are built — and we need your help!”
Residents will get ample opportunity to give their ideas at the meeting.
It’s a timely topic in Wedgwood, which is in the middle of creating a Wedgwood Vision Plan, a possible precursor to a Neighborhood Plan. How multifamily is integrated into the neighborhood, particularly along 35th Avenue NE, has been a big focus of meetings so far — a topic you can give your opinion on by taking the Wedgwood Vision Project’s online survey and by attending the project’s next community meeting, April 10 (a Saturday) from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church.
