Our partner site Maple Leaf Life is reporting this morning:

A fully involved house fire Thursday morning just outside Maple Leaf destroyed a home off Lake City Way Northeast.

No one was inside the small home, at 8540 23rd Ave. NE, and it was believed to be unoccupied, said Fire Lt. Theron Dirette.

One firefighter said flames were leaping 30 feet high when crews arrived shortly after 5:30 a.m., but Dirette said the blaze was quickly knocked down.

The cause is not yet known. Fire investigators were at the scene.
