Parks, a hot topic in the area with Wedgwood trying to get a new one, will be the topic of two meetings with Seattle Parks and Rec this week.
Tonight (April 6), the public is invited to discuss the planned improvements to Field #1 at Meadowbrook Playfield. The meeting is from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Community Center.
The renovation will entail re-grading the outfield surface, resurfacing the infield, replacing the irrigation and drainage system, installing new grass and replacing the existing backstop with perimeter fencing. Work is expected to begin early this summer and completed a year later.
On Wednesday night (April 7), Parks Superintendent Tim Gallagher and other staff members will be seeking ideas for building community relationships and park programs to best serve Lake City residents. The meeting will be 6:30-8 p.m. at the Lake City Community Center (12531 28th Ave. NE).
