Can you feel the energy around the Puget Sound these days? There’s a spirit of innovation in the air, enthusiasm for the great outdoors, and an excitement for local companies and local pride.
Being a company born, raised and operating in Seattle, Bartells believes in showcasing countless local favorites from small businesses all around the Northwest – something it’s celebrating all February long with its annual Loving Local event.
You can expect great deals on local goods through Feb. 10 at all 65 Bartell locations. As an extra bonus and a way to join in on the local celebration, visit your neighborhood store on Friday the 9th for coffee and cookies from 2-5 p.m., plus enter to win a gift basket filled with local homegrown must-haves.
There’s even more to enjoy at select locations around town, including face painting for kids (and adults, too, if the mood strikes), free manicures featuring Oregon-based Pacifica Nail Polish, and sampling of some of the best snacks and sweets our region has to offer. You can visit Bartells’ events page on the website for details.
This celebration is about letting local products shine, and learning about the great businesses behind them. Joe Chocolates, one of the companies sampling during Loving Local, got its start in 2015 when two college students at the UW launched the idea as part of a class project. Now they have a chocolate factory producing delicious high-quality chocolate jam-packed with rich espresso flavor.
Moon Valley Organics is another brand Bartell Drugs brought onto its shelves in early 2017. This high-quality, organic personal care line rests on a philosophy of simple ingredients packed in environmentally friendly containers – all coming out of North Bend, WA.
There’s a lot to celebrate – stop by your Bartell Drugs, and see what your neighbors are up to!
