Learn to speak Chinese at SPL free classes

The Seattle Public Library will offer two levels of Chinese for Beginners as a 10-week course for adult language learners from January through Aprilat the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Boeing Technology Training Center, Room 4, 206-684-0849.

Library programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required, call 206-684-0849. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates. No class March 7.

CLASS SCHEDULE

Chinese for Beginners, Level 1 – Learn phonetics and daily expressions, develop listening and speaking skills, and gain familiarity with Chinese culture.

Chinese for Beginners, Level 3 – Continue to learn grammar and vocabulary, and develop listening, speaking and reading skills. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate in daily life situations and have a greater understating of Chinese culture. This class is for adults with some basic knowledge of Chinese and a vocabulary of about 100 words or more.

These classes are presented in partnership with the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington.
